Position: Consultant – ESG & Climate Services
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, hybrid (will consider remote within Canada)
Start Date: Immediately
Qualifications for this role:
• 2-5 years of related experience in a consulting environment or equivalent of education and experience
• Developing and analyzing climate-related risk assessments, scenario analysis and projections, and associated financial implications
• Developing and implementing climate strategies and disclosure for organizations
• Working with ESG standards and frameworks (i.e. TCFD, CDP, SASB/ISSB, GRI…)
• Stakeholder engagement, materiality assessments and peer benchmarking
• Strong writing, presentation and communication skills
• Exceptional research, writing and analytical skills. Ability to identify, synthesize and clearly communicate relevant findings
• Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well as a collaborative team player
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Some scheduling flexibility to accommodate fluctuating workloads and occasional overtime
• Self-motivated with a capacity to work and thrive in a growing, dynamic environment
• Strong business acumen
Additional skills in the following areas will be considered an asset:
• Understanding of climate data, scenarios, projections and transition pathways, such as IPCC and IEA
• Advanced knowledge of GHG accounting and GHG Protocol standards and tools, with experience in SBTi assessments and approvals
• Application of ISSB/TCFD recommendations, including climate-related scenario analysis
• Strong familiarity with corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, climate change and ESG integration with the ability to advise clients on these topics
• Critical thinking and a proven ability to for innovative thinking
• Ability to analyze and articulate financial implications of ESG risks and opportunities, and to assess and communicate related business opportunities
• Project management
• A strong sense of curiosity and interest in research and analysis
• Experience in a consulting environment
