We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity on behalf of our client, Ulnooweg Development Group (UDG).
As an integral member of the UDG team, you will focus on integrating ESG considerations and standards into their financial products and services.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Work with ESG Partners Inc., UDG's external ESG consultant, to implement the newly developed ESG Strategy and Framework
- Incorporate ESG factors into UDG’s decision-making processes related to products and services
- Conduct screening and due diligence of ESG performance for potential client projects
- Increase awareness among UDG’s clients of ESG requirements and emerging best practices
- Support clients in developing their own ESG practices to enhance business performance
- Consider ongoing updates to ESG criteria used in evaluating eligibility for project financing
- Track and report on progress achieving ESG goals and targets to ensure effective progress
- Conduct research on emerging ESG and sustainable finance trends, regulations and best practices, integrate relevant learnings to enhance UDG ESG performance and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support ESG communication to a range of stakeholders, including clients, the board of directors, and investors
- Lead ESG reporting for UDG under relevant accounting, regulatory and sustainability frameworks
Qualifications that will ensure your success in this role include:
- Post secondary education in related field of expertise (Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Sustainable Finance, etc.)
- 2-5 years’ experience in roles of increasing seniority the financial sector, conducting similar work
- Demonstrated experience in effective client relationship and project management, and comfort with board-level engagement
- Demonstrable understanding of ESG, sustainable finance, and decarbonization
- Working knowledge of ESG standards and frameworks, such as the GRI, SASB, and the UN SDGs
- Knowledge of analytic and data application tools and how they are used for financial and risk analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment frameworks and financial analysis concepts
- Knowledge of bank risks and profiles, especially in relation to credit risk, with the ability to integrate ESG factors
- Experience analyzing and discussing emerging and evolving risks, especially as they relate to ESG and sustainable finance
- Working knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self driven and able to work well independently, as well as work effectively with UDG staff and clients
- IFRS-FSA credential would be an asset
Important details about the role:
This full-time, permanent position reports to the Team Lead, Access to Capital. This is an in-person role based in Millbrook, Nova Scotia, with the option to move to a hybrid working model following the training period.
